G Star Game Convention 2008

One of my clients — CJ Internet — took part in G Star Game Convention 2008 in Goyang City (read it at Chosun.com) from 14th Nov to 16th Nov. It’s their first time there and it’s probably to promote their upcoming online games and global Netmarble services (which yours truly, copy-edited and copy-wrote for :D).

For all of you who don’t know, G Star is an annual showcase of Korea’s online games (the country produces 30% of the world’s online games) that attracts buyers and gaming fans from around the globe. One of the biggest draws of this year’s exhibition is NC Soft’s Aion (Youtube trailer here) which gamers raved for its graphics and gameplay.

Personally, I’m a little tired of these swords and sorcery MMOGs. Nothing, and I say nothing, beats good ol’ Dungeons and Dragons. And it’s rather difficult to differentiate one swords and sorcery MMOG from another. They all look the same after a while. [Side note: EA Mirror’s Edge is ground-breaking. Why can’t we get more games like this?]

Anyways, I couldn’t make it down to
G Star because I’m in Singapore — oh, the wonders of telecommuting. But one of the editors (many thanks Toughbabe!) kindly shared her photos & eye candy with me.

I love these games conventions where Otakus surround beautiful people decked out in outlandish — and sometimes skimpy — costumes.

Ohhh… yeah! 😀
